Bonnie Jean Fortner, 91, of Willamina, died Nov. 6, 20101, from cancer.
She was born April 16, 1919 to parents Herman Kollmeyer and Sylvia Neilson Kollmeyer in Chicago, Il. Bonnie was the eldest of four children.
She married Floyd Martin Hondel II in 1946. Together they were the parents of Floyd Martin Hondel III (Marty) and Ila Jean Hondel. They were married 25 years. From this marriage there are four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Bonnie was married to her second husband Damon Fortner who passed away in 2000. She became step grandmother to Damon's family.
Bonnie spent most of her life living in Yucaipa, Calif. until moving to Oregon in 2000. She retired from Patton State Hospital in San Bernardino, CA where she was employed as a receptionist.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Ila Skyberg of Willamina; her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husbands, her son, and her brother and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am at Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home, with a video history beginning at 10:30am. Interment will be private.
